Item Art

Just a quick test print of how the art for the cards is turning out.  I'm fairly pleased with them, and so far they're a lot easier than the tiles were.

This isn't to say they're all perfect though - I'll be changing and improving them as I decide on the layout and formatting for each.

Iconography

Someone brought up the idea of having unique icons for the various features of each card, like in Magic.

At first I wasn't so enthusiastic, but soon the idea grew on me since it fit perfectly with the concept of a simple rules set, but many interactions.

Finally I decided on a few sub-types to easily identify the card, and more detailed rules written long hand.  Ultimately this makes the game easier to play, which is great.

Evenetually I want to have the layout solved for these so they're presentable and help sell the idea of the cards having been taken from an ancient tome of magic.

Localisation?

Something I always have to be mindful of when working on a video game that contains text is how much will fit in each box.

Will we need to add a scrolling text feature when we translate from English to German?

Will the box look completely empty translated to Japanese?

The first few versions of the game will be in English, after that I'll be looking at a Spanish translation since I can do that myself, and it will help local (Chile) sales.

It will also be good to have a format that can support other languages, if the game proves popular.
